When the Bank opened its doors in 1982, its name was Summit Savings and Loan Association and chartered as a savings and loan. Today the Bank is a community bank with $1.1 B in assets, five branch locations, and more than 115 employees. In 2006, Summit State Bank became a publicly traded company on NASDAQ and is recognized by the symbol SSBI.
